Alpha Pregnancy Center – Schenectady

Alpha Pregnancy Care Center, commonly known as the “Alpha Center,” exists to be a refuge where those dealing with pregnancy issues can find unconditional love, acceptance and truthful counsel, reflecting God’s great love and respect for each individual.

Schenectady Serving Opportunities:
Bible Study Leader – Women needed to lead or co-lead a Bible study for clients; Mondays 1pm – 2 pm, Wednesdays 11am – 12pm

Mom’s Group – Help with one or more of a wide range of activities; help lead a Bible study; pray for clients requesting prayer; prepare food for the group; help with setup and cleanup; to be scheduled

Childbirth Prep Class Teacher/Assistant – Teach or assist with a childbirth preparation class, breastfeeding or baby care class; must be a nurse; Tuesdays 9:30am – 10:30am or Tuesdays 6pm – 7pm

Parenting Class Teacher – Teach or assist with a parenting class to clients (class material and training provided); Tuesdays 11am – 12pm, Tuesdays 5pm – 6pm or Wednesdays 1pm – 2pm

Resource Assistant – Assist with buying food at the Regional Food Bank; assist with pick-ups of food and diapers at Regional Food Bank; pick-up donations at various locations and deliver to Stork Room; sort donations; supervise and provide direction to clients as they sort donations and clean; 1 to 2 hours between 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday

Childcare – Assist with childcare during parenting classes; Monday 11am – 12pm or Monday 1pm – 2pm

Stork Room – Sort, clean and organize donations; assist clients as they shop with their mommy/daddy dollar credits; supervise client volunteers as they work in the Stork Room; 1 to 2 hour between 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday

Handy Man – Various handyman and cleaning opportunities; to be scheduled
